Get Witham Working 2014

Employers, recruitment agencies and training organisations were looking for hundreds of new recruits at Priti Patel MP’s Witham Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair today (10 October 2014) at Witham Public Hall. Vacancies included full time work, part time positions, and training and apprenticeship places. Over 37 organisations were in attendance and hundreds of people, including students, looking for work, career advice or a change in career attended. Seminars and workshops to help people looking for work, improve their CVs and assist with interview techniques also took place. Priti said:
“Getting my constituents into work, apprenticeships and training places is a priority for me. It is great news that unemployment has halved over the last four years in Witham but I am keen to see more people benefit from the opportunities that employment, apprenticeships and training offers.”
“Witham Public Hall was a hive of activity with an array of businesses, jobseekers and students present today. I am delighted to see so many people in attendance as this shows their sheer dedication to secure a job to provide for themselves and their family.”
“This event was a tremendous success and I would like to thank all the businesses and organisations who supported the Jobs Fair and are doing so much to help get my constituents into work.“
Businesses attending the Jobs Fair have found potential candidates to fill roles and supported the Jobs Fair. Darren McGrath, Operations Director of Tiptree Patisserie, commented:
“Tiptree patisserie is proud to support Priti Patel, the local community and the Witham jobs fair. We strive to keep our workforce local. Doing this event increases our profile and allows us to find the un-tapped talent, Witham has to offer.”
