Christmas Card Competition 2013

Witham MP, Priti Patel is delighted to announce that Oscar Crofts, aged 9, from Tiptree Heath Primary School, Tiptree is the winner of her 2013 Witham Christmas Card Competition. A record number of entries were received from schools across the Witham constituency and Priti was impressed by the wide range of designs entered in the competition.
 
The winner of the Christmas Card Competition, Oscar, a parent and his teacher have been invited to the Palace of Westminster for a special tour of Parliament and Priti will present him with the Christmas card that features his design at his school before the end of the term. Additionally, Priti will visit the competition’s runners-up at their schools to present them with a congratulatory gift. The designs of the runners-up will also be showcased on the back of her Christmas card. Priti has also sent every child who participated in the competition a certificate to express her gratitude for their wonderful designs.
 
Priti said: “I am so impressed by the high quality of this year’s submissions to the Witham Christmas Card Competition. Pupils across the Witham constituency have demonstrated once again their creativity and hard work, and they should be very proud of the artwork they submitted. I would like to congratulate Oscar Crofts for his winning design which will look wonderful on my Christmas card this year. I would also like to praise the runners-up and all participating pupils, and extend to them, their parents and the school staff my very best wishes for the Christmas and New Year period.”

Strategic Road Network Consultations

There are two important consultations running at the moment on key strategic road infrastructure improvements - the A12 widening scheme and the upgrading of the A120. Priti has been campaigning to secure new investment in these roads and has welcomed the consultations taking place.
