Priti elected Witham MP for third term

Priti Patel has thanked the voters of the Witham constituency for electing her as their Member of Parliament for a third term at the General Election with a higher number of votes and larger share of the vote than in 2015. Priti polled 31,670 votes, which equated to a 64.3% share of the vote. Speaking after the results were announced, Priti said:

“It is a great honour and privilege to be re-elected as Witham’s Member of Parliament and I am grateful to voters for once again putting their trust and confidence in me.”

“Over the last seven years I have helped thousands of constituents, secured new investment in our local public services and commitments to upgrade infrastructure in this part of Essex. With the mandate given to me I will continue to work hard to represent all of the families, businesses and communities across the whole constituency.”

There are two important consultations running at the moment on key strategic road infrastructure improvements - the A12 widening scheme and the upgrading of the A120. Priti has been campaigning to secure new investment in these roads and has welcomed the consultations taking place.
